English Grammar and Composition 7/8

Since learning is cumulative from basics to skill sets and ultimately to application and usage, this course is designed to provide instruction and practice in English grammar and its application in vocabulary and literary analysis. While learning the building blocks of grammar and vocabulary, the student is challenged to practice what is learned in foundational writing and speaking. Writing assignments will progress from sentence formulation to paragraph construction and preparation for essays and research papers which occur in more advanced courses. Likewise, students will be taught the elements of speech construction and demonstration of skill in public presentation. Dedicated time each day will need to be spent practicing grammar rules, writing fundamentals, reading for comprehension, and the oral use of vocabulary.
